Richtje Reinsma (Amsterdam, 1979) lives and works in Amsterdam. Her artistic practice involves installations, performances, drawings and texts. She writes short stories and articles on art and culture. Her work is thoughtful, personal and playful. She works with fragile materials, leaving the traces of the manual and material process visible, seeking a mix of coincidence and precision.
Reinsma regularly co-creates with fellow artists, and is a founding member of the artist collectives Het Harde Potlood (The Hard Pencil) and De Parasiet (The Parasite).
Reinsma’s work has been shown at Museum Van Loon en Mediamatic, Amsterdam; Drawing Centre Diepenheim, Garage Rotterdam; Onomatopee, Eindhoven; Museum Jan Cunen, Oss; SECONDroom, Brussel (B) en het Wende Museum in Culver City (VS).
